In the last fifteen years, the diabetes community has seen huge advancements in the technologies used to manage type 1 diabetes. From smart insulin pens to continuous glucose monitors, from insulin pumps that communicate with CGMs to DIY artificial pancreas systems, diabetes tech has come a very long way from urine testing and fingersticks.

We asked the CWD family what diabetes tech was most important, and the insulin pump/CGM combination use ranked highest. These devices help dose insulin with precision and monitor blood sugar every five minutes, and with increased access and availability to this tech, people with diabetes are improving their outcomes and quality of life. (And that quality of life improvement is what our CWD family is all about!)
