A mobile phone is more than just a piece of modern technology for kids with type 1 diabetes. It's often an important -- if not critical -- part of their diabetes care. Mobile phone apps can record blood glucose and insulin dosing information and display blood sugar data and trends from continuous glucose monitoring systems, alerting kids and parents to changes that need attention. It should come as no surprise then that kids with type 1 diabetes often have a mobile phone at a younger age than their peers.
