Over the last decade, the world of blood glucose checks has really changed for people living with type 1 diabetes. While finger pricks and glucose meters were the standard of care for people with T1D for a long time, continuous glucose monitors have become increasingly prevalent (and thankfully covered by insurance), removing the need for constant finger pricks.
This trend is reflected in our poll this week, showing that our CWD family is checking their CGM graph way more than pricking their finger.
While finger sticks aren't going away entirely, we're moving towards a less invasive glucose monitoring experience, and our fingertips are thankful.
