  2. We published 177 new Ask the Diabetes Team questions and answers in October 2003, bringing the total number published to 13,423. All of these questions are organized by topic and are indexed daily for easy keyword searching. What's your question?

  3. Ever wondered how many people visit Children with Diabetes? Our web site statistics are and have always been open to our readers. In October 2003, we had over 8.4 million hits, delivered almost 1.6 million pages, and served 418,118 user sessions -- an average of 13,487 per day.

  4. The American Diabetes Association has revised its definition of impaired fasting glucose (IFG) from 110 mg/dl to 100 mg/dl (5.6 mmol/l). This defines when someone has "pre-diabetes." For complete details, see Follow-up Report on the Diagnosis of Diabetes Mellitus.

  5. President Bush declares November National Diabetes Month.

  6. In recognition of Diabetes Awareness Month, the CBS Early Show will be presenting a five-part series on the different aspects of diabetes beginning on Monday, November 3rd.
