  1. Medtronic Diabetes is running a contest, seeking 2-3 minute videos portraying Lenny the Lion teaching children about diabetes or about overcoming everyday challenges associated with diabetes by using insulin pump therapy. Entries must be submitted by March 31, 2010 (the web site says March 1).
  2. Applications for the 2010 College Scholarships from the Diabetes Scholars Foundation are now online. At least seventeen $5,000 scholarships will be awarded. Applications must be submitted by April 15, 2010.
  3. Make plans to attend CWD's Friends for Life: Orlando 2010 International Conference, to be held at the Orlando World Center Marriott in Orlando, Florida from June 29 – July 4, 2010. The Diabetes Scholars Foundation is offering family scholarships for CWD's Friends for Life: Orlando 2010 conference.
  4. Make plans to attend CWD's Friends for Life Canada: Vancouver 2010 conference, to be held at the Renaissance Vancouver Hotel Harbourside in Vancouver, BC, Canada from August 27-29, 2010.
  5. Make plans to attend CWD's Focus on Technology: Charlotte 2010, to be held at the Renaissance Charlotte Suites Hotel in Charlotte, North Carolina, from September 3-5, 2010. The Diabetes Scholars Foundation is offering family scholarships for CWD's Focus on Technology: Charlotte 2010 conference.
  6. Make plans to attend CWD's Friends for Life: UK 2010 Conference, to be held at the Beaumont House Hotel and Conference Venue in Old Windsor, Berkshire, England from October 29-31, 2010. The Diabetes Scholars Foundation is offering family scholarships for CWD's Friends for Life: UK 2010 conference.

When I got to our next stop, I parked the car, turned to the back seat to see my darling son sitting there with a container of test strips using the new strips as a knife to spread his cheese!

  17. A team from the University of Michigan is conduction a survey on parents' perceptions of their child's independence in caring for their type 1 diabetes at school and the amount of support (alliance) that parents perceive they receive from the school.

Researchers at the Medical University of South Carolina are looking for teenage drivers with type 1 diabetes between the ages of 16-19 and their parents to participate in an online study about how diabetes affects driving in teens.
