Back to Rufus Rufus Visits the Oberholzer Family

The Oberholzer Family, Durban, South Africa

Matthew, Age 10 1/2 Years
Diagnosed At 5 years and 9 Months

Sunday 16th January 2005
Rufus came to us on the 6th January, passed on by Kirsty Anderson's Mom. Matthew was very taken with him in the beginning. He changed his clothes and slept with him on the first night.

We went on holiday to Jeffrey's Bay the next day, and the body-boarding, fishing and surf shops distracted Matthew, so he did not pay Rufus too much attention.

Matthew is also on an insulin pump. He also has to test his sugars often. He feels that the pump gives him a little more freedom with food and better control of his sugars.

Tomorrow we will return Rufus to the Andersons.
