Do you or your child use a continuous glucose monitor?

Poll dates: September 7 - 14, 2016
Total Votes: 55

Among CWD readers, CGM use is much more common in pump users than in MDI users. This is to be expected. However, there are several studies that show that MDI users also benefit from continuous sensing, including one -- Efficacy of REAL-Time continuous glucose monitoring on glycaemic control and glucose variability in Type 1 diabetic patients treated with either insulin pumps or multiple insulin injection therapy: a randomised controlled cross-over trial -- that showed greater improvement in care for MDI users compared with pump users.

Regardless of how you take your insulin, continuous glucose monitoring can make a difference in your care. For more on the benefits of CGM, see item #4 on our Care Suggestions page.
