Have you or your child ever been checked for thyroid disorders?
Poll dates: August 31 - September 7, 2008
Total Votes: 360Children with diabetes often have other autoimmune conditions, and as a result, screening for these conditions is typically part of clinic visits. We've asked about celiac for many years, but have not asked about thyroid until now. Most people know that they've been screened, and one-quarter showed that they had a thyroid disorder.
If you're among the 21% that hasn't been screened or isn't sure, this is worth mentioning to your diabetes team during your next clinic visit.
