On an average day, how many times do you or your child do a blood test?

Poll dates: June 4 - 11, 2000
Total Votes: 1,275

Blood sugar data is the only empirical data about our bodies that we can use to manage blood sugars hour-by-hour and day-to-day. The more times you test, therefore, the more data you have to control your diabetes. 84% of you report testing your blood sugar four or more times per day, with 30% testing six or more times. Thinner lancets and meters that require less blood help to make it easy to test often.

We last ran this poll in October of 1998, and the results were very similar.

Tests per Day June 2000 Oct 1998
More than six 18% 16%
Six 12% 12%
Five 20% 16%
Four 34% 41%
Three 7% 6%
Two 3% 4%
One 1% 1%
Less than one 2% 1%
