My name is Destiny and I'm three years old. I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes five days after my third birthday. My mommy took me to the doctor because I was drinking a lot of water, over wetting my diapers, and had a diaper rash that wouldn't go away.
I have a twin brother and a five year old sister.
I'm extremely new with diabetes, but I've gotten used to my daily routine checking my blood glucose and taking my insulin. I'm feeling a lot better now with my insulin, but I'm still adjusting to living with diabetes.
I want to tell all the children with diabetes that they are loved never any less because of diabetes, and to all the parents with children with diabetes to be strong and patient with us little ones.
