Back to Kids' Voices Jenn

My name is Jenn, I was born in 1989, and I have had diabetes for five years now. I was on an insulin pump for two years but then I had to go off of it because of complications. When I went off the pump I had to take about 5-6 shots every day which really stunk! My mom started a support group for kids with diabetes so we can meet others and it has been a HUGE success! Today I am finally going on a new insulin pump so I can gain control again since my Hemoglobin A1C level raised to 10! I am very excited!

For anyone that was newly diagnosed a piece of advice that was given to me when I was first diagnosed is to give everything one year. After that year you get very used to everything and you will notice that having the disease is really not that bad!

Thanks and please e-mail me if you want to talk! Jenn

I'm on the right
