Back to Kids' Voices Catherine

Hello! My name is Catherine. I am 14 years old and live in Pennsylvania.

I have had diabetes since I was 2. I don't really remember being in the hospital that much. I am currently on shots and I take 3 or more a day. I also check my blood sugar 4 times a day.

My friends are very supportive of my diabetes. My good friend, Lauren acts like she can understand everything, even though she's not diabetic and I feel good for having a great friend like her. At school, my friends, Tiffany, Brittney, Ramya, and Krystlen like to guess if my blood sugar will be high or low. It's really fun. We all laugh when they get it wrong. Their so great!

Some of my hobbies include reading, writing, e-mailing, talking to people online, talking on the phone, going to the movies, listening to music, skateboarding, and surfing.

My favorite movies are Pirates of the Caribbean and Scary Movie 3. My favorite actors/actresses include Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Daviegh Chase, and many others I can't think of right now. My favorite colors are black, red, gray, and blue. I love rock music. I will name most of the bands I like, but it would go on forever! Hehe! Ok, well I like A.F.I., Avril Lavigne, Blink 182, Evanescense, Hoobastank, Maroon 5, Good Charlotte, Mest, New Found Glory, Simple Plan, Story of the Year, Sugar Cult, System of a Down, Sum 41, and Yellowcard. There are many others, also.

Well, I guess that is it! I would like to talk to other diabetics around my age from anywhere in the world! I would especially like someone from someplace other than the U.S., but if you live here, feel free to e-mail me and I will e-mail you back! My e-mail is blinkbabe11820[@]
