Back to Kids' Voices Emily

My name is Emily. I am 14 years old and I'm in 8th grade. I live in Pennsylvania. I have had diabetes for 12 years now, since I was 2. I have an 11 year old sister named Shannon.

I don't like diabetes that much. It sucks that I can't like whatever I want when I want. I am on insulin shots but I'm interested in getting a pump.

I've gone to diabetes camp at Clara Barton Camp up in Massachusetts. It was really fun!

I like to go to the movies, talk to people online, snailmail people, listen to music and other stuff like that! My favorite movie is Pirates of the Caribbean. I like listening to music such as Blink 182, Simple Plan, Good Charlotte, Smile Empty Soul, Trapt, AFI, Mest, and all of those other rock bands. I'm really into rock bands at the moment.

My best friend Lauren is very supportive of my diabetes. She's gone to a walk for the cure before with my family and she understands a lot about it. I'm glad I have a friend like her!

I would like as many friends as possible from anywhere in the world! I would like key pals or penpals! Please e-mail me at xoxoemoxox[@] I'm looking forward to hearing from you!
