My name is Michael Norman. I have had diabetes for almost 4 years now. I am 12 years old. I was pretty scared when I found out. I thought that I was going to die. But with the help of my doctors, my mother, and step dad Frank, I got through it, and its ok now.
I can do my own shots, but I prefer my that my mom does it because for some reason it hurts less. Sometimes I feel sad that I can't eat whatever I want, when ever I want. But I learned that it is for my own health and my life. But I really do get to eat things with sugar, like ice cream, but only when my sugar is low, or on special days like my birthday, or some other parties or holidays.
My mom and I hope and pray every single day that they get a cure. I would like if I could make email friends, people in my area or not in my area, I don't care, but it would be nice. Thanks and to all of us diabetics....HANG IN THERE!
