Back to Kids' Voices Dane

Hello, my name is Dane. I am 16, I love to sing and write country music, and watch baseball, football, and racing. I also like to bowl, and to go hang out with friends. I am not only a singer and a songwriter, but I am one of the biggest country fans out there. If there is a song, I know the words and who sings it, guaranteed!

I am very active in concert choir, show choir, chamber choir, concert band, jazz band, marching band, pep band. I'm just your regular old band geek! I also like performing around our town. I have sung at our county fair the last few years, and I sing the national anthem at our school's home varsity basketball games. I've also had a radio interview in front of 8,000 listeners! It was a blast.

I've had diabetes since August 27, 1997, almost 5 years now. I just want to tell you all, keep it under control. I work with a lady who has had diabetes since she was a teen. She's in her mid 40s now and she can only see out one eye, and that eye even is reduced to tunnel vision. She's had a foot amputated, kidney transplants, and numerous other things go wrong. So, take care of your diabetes.

I've learned that people will learn to accept it. So don't be afraid to take your blood sugars or shots in public. In the long run it will pay off. Go out and live life, don't let diabetes hold you back. Just MAKE SURE TO TAKE CARE OF IT while you are out.

If you want to email me, my address is dnealson[@] and I WILL respond.

Live life to the fullest!
