Hi! My name is Haley and I'm 3 1/2. I was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes on Dec. 2, 1999. My Mom knew all the symptoms of diabetes since her Dad also had diabetes. The Doctors said we caught it very early and we only had to stay in the hospital for 3 days.
I was really grumpy and tired all the time. And I also drank lots of water and started wetting my self (which I never do since I'm a big girl now). But the Doctors told us that these were all symptoms of this disease. I really hate my shots, but my Mom and Dad understand why I'm so upset sometimes. I'm starting to help with my blood sugars, which we do 5 times a day.
I have an older sister too. Her name is Kenzie and she's 6 years old. We checked her blood sugar when we came home from the hospital, just to be sure she didn't have diabetes too.
My favorite things to do are gymnastics, dance, playing with my barbies, my sister and my cockitiel bird named Jazz.
