From St Leonards, NSW, Australia:

I have heard of reports that the UK has approved a nasal insulin application, available in lieu of injections. Could you please give me any information or details on this?

Not true, I'm afraid. There were reports on preliminary, and very small, clinical trials at American Diabetes Association 1998 Scientific Sessions. It's going to be some time before this is licensed for use but it does seem that progress is being made.
