I was just told my 15 month old grandson is diabetic. Can you tell me what the criteria is for diagnosis and how accurate is the diagnosis for a child of that age? Prior to diagnosis his only symptom was constant thirst.


If your grandson had constant thirst and a blood sugar over 200, that is all that is necessary to accurately diagnose diabetes.
