Question: From New York, USA:
Our 2 1/2 year old son was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes 3 weeks ago. He is allergic to many foods including milk, eggs, wheat, and soy. Please let us know where we can get information about food allergies and Type 1 diabetes. Also we would like to contact parents who have a kid with diabetes and allergies. Thank you for your help.

Answer:
I believe your best resource for allergy and diabetes information would be a pediatric dietitian experienced in diabetes care. Alternate foods and nutrition supplements may need to be considered if the diet is restricted in so many foods.
