From Windsor, Connecticut, USA:

Our seven year old experiences quite a few lows during the day. Can you give us an idea of how many points his blood sugar should go up with each gram of carbohydrates given?

It varies from child to child, but one carbohydrate exchange (15 grams) usually raises the blood sugar about 30-50 mg/dl.
